The jaws move in parallel for a more even grip, and the unique V-slot in the jaws allows you to secure wire more firmly. The cutting edges are hardened to HRC 62-65, meaning durability and longevity of this tool is unquestionable. The jaws are open throated at the end, letting you thread your wire through the open throat of the plier for effortless working at any point along the whole length of the wire. The cutters will go through soft or hard steel wire with ease, due to the increased leverage.

Do you make insulated combination pliers? Are they VDE?

We have two combination pliers that are certified to the international IEC 60900:2018 standard for insulated tools, making them safe to use on potentially live systems up to 1000V AC and 1500V DC.

They are the 1000V Insulated Side Cutter Parallel Plier For Hard Wire 160 mm and the 1000V Insulated Side Cutter Parallel Plier For Hard Wire 200 mm.

They are not marked "VDE", because that is just one of many brands that certifies insulated tools to the IEC 60900 standard (and there are countless others), so it is not an official requirement. Our tools meet the official requirements.

When buying 1000V insulated tools, look for the official double-triangle 1000V symbol and the full IEC 60900:2018 standard hard-marked on the product.
