Maun plier sets are built to perform and engineered for the bench. Every kit pairs parallel-action pliers with the specialist tools the craft needs - smooth jaws for jewellery, precision straight edges for leatherwork, compound-lever cutters for outdoor work. Three tiers (Silver, Gold, Platinum) add tools as your work gets more demanding, so you pay for the kit your bench needs.

  • Parallel-action jaws on every plier. Every gripping plier in every Maun kit uses parallel-action jaws - the mechanism we've engineered into every plier we make since 1944. Parallel jaws grip evenly across the full jaw length, with no pinch points like scissor-action pliers. Soft wire, polished bezels and freshly-cut leather stay unmarked.
  • HRC 57 case-hardened jaws. Every plier jaw across the range is case-hardened to HRC 57. We state our hardness ratings because they matter - HRC 57 is hard enough to grip steel rivets without denting, soft enough to flex under load rather than crack. The same hardness applies across the precision tools in jewellery, leatherwork and model making kits.
  • Matched to your trade across six crafts. We design each kit around the trade it's for. A jewellery kit doesn't share tools with a leatherwork kit, because the smooth jaws and V-notch wire-holder a jeweller needs are different from the hole punch and straight edge a leatherworker needs. These kits cover six trades across three tiers - Silver (3-4 pieces), Gold (4-5 pieces), Platinum (5-6 pieces), with a Bronze entry tier on the leatherwork side. You pick the trade first, then the tier. Silver kits handle the core tasks; Gold adds a specialist tool; Platinum runs the full pipeline.

  • BSOJ Jewellery Making Tool Kit Platinum 6 Pliers - We developed this six-piece kit in conjunction with course leaders at the Birmingham School of Jewellery, so it covers the bench tasks they teach. Smooth flat-nose for marking-free grip on polished silver, snipe-nose for forming, a V-notch wire-holder rated 0.4 to 6.0 mm round wire, fine-nose round jaws for tight loops, round-and-flat for shaping and a nylon-jaw plier for the most delicate work. Six pliers, one full bench setup.
  • Jewellery Making Tool Kit Silver 4 Pliers - If you're starting out, this is the four-piece kit we'd point you at. Smooth-jaw flat-nose for marking-free grip, half-round and flat for shaping bezels, snipe-nose for forming and round-jaws with a 28 mm bottom loop circumference for repeatable jump rings. It pairs two steel straight edges (18 inch and 36 inch, both ground to 0.084 mm per metre) with a hole punch plier (1.0 to 4.8 mm), a heavy-duty revolving hole punch, a cupped rivet plier and 100 number-34 rivets.   • Outdoor Plier Set Platinum 5 Pliers - Our Outdoor Platinum kit handles fencing, garden and field work. It pairs a 200 mm side cutter and a 160 mm side cutter with a 160 mm compound-lever diagonal cutter, a 150 mm end cutter and a 125 mm snipe-nose plier with serrated jaws. The 200 mm side cutter handles hard wire to 3.0 mm and soft wire to 6.0 mm. Built for the field, not the workshop.
