About Maun Jewellery Tools

We’re renowned for our British made, high-quality, durable tools that are suitable for professional use, last through the years and deliver results.

Benefits of the Fine Nose Round and Flat Jaw Plier for Jewellery Making

The Fine Nose Round and Flat Jaws Parallel Plier is a versatile tool designed for precision and durability. Engineered with smooth parallel jaws, it ensures a firm grip without damaging delicate pieces, making it ideal for jewellery makers and detailed model workers. The plier features one tapered round jaw for forming various sized loops and jump rings, and one flat jaw for secure gripping. Built to last, it boasts a robust construction with hardened jaws and a rust-resistant finish. This essential tool allows for damage-free working, consistently sized loops, and reliable performance.

But don’t take our word for it, below is accomplished jeweller, Piers Carpenter, giving us his professional opinion on the tool.

Watch Piers Review Video

If you don’t have time to watch the video, we have highlighted his key talking points below.

“A little add-on for the video where I was talking about round pliers. Maun also do a pair of round and flat, I love the Half Round Pliers, so I love the Fine Nose Round and Flat Jaw Plier different horses to different courses.”

Piers has previously spoken about his admiration for our Half Round and Flat Jaws Parallel Plier. This tool is similar, but with a much finer round jaw, perfect for smaller chian making.

“These are brilliant. Obviously, you're not going to mark the outside of the jump ring or collet. You’re probably going to be using finer metal. Perfect size handles the 125 mm.”

Here Piers speaks on how comfortable the pliers are to use and mentions using them with precious material having no fear of scuffing.

“This pair doesn't have the locator pin that the double rounds have, which I think is a very nice touch, but you're not going to need it so much with this pair because they don't have to stay true when you've got that big flat edge on one side. Very nice, very comfortable.”

Piers speaks about the redundancy of having a locator pin with these pliers.

“When you're using fine metal, you have sort of alleviated the space to put dents in the metal. So fine, you can't buff out the dents that you'll put into it because you'll end up with something too fine and not sturdy enough. So, these are perfect for when you're turning up some really, really fine jump rings that you don't want any dents outside.”

Piers closes out his thoughts on this product by speaking on how he uses it to it's advantage.
