Mini Pliers

(Showing 12 of 28)

A powerful range of small pliers and cutters for expert precision.

Small in size but big on performance. Expertly designed by Maun. Parallel-action pliers built for delicate, intricate, and precise work.

Engineered for tight spaces and fine components, Maun mini pliers deliver unparalleled control and accuracy. With parallel jaws providing a vice-like grip, these pliers hold securely along the full length of the jaw, unlike traditional pivoted pliers.

Choose from a full range of specialist jaws – flat nose, snipe nose, smooth, serrated, round, plastic – all precision-machined to Maun’s exacting standards.

Maun Mini Pliers. Parallel-Action Precision Engineered at 125 mm.

Maun mini pliers use parallel-action jaws that move uniformly across their full length - no pinch points, no uneven force, no marking on delicate materials.

Every model across our 28-tool range is case-hardened to HRC 57 and built at 125 mm for jewellery makers, model builders, watch repairers and anyone working with small components in confined spaces.

Five jaw profiles cover flat nose gripping, snipe nose reaching, round nose looping, half round bending and side cutter wire work. Four jaw surfaces let you match the tool to the material.

  • Parallel-Action Jaw Mechanism: We use a parallel-action box joint in every model - jaws that grip evenly across the full 30 mm jaw length regardless of where your workpiece sits. This prevents the pinch points and tip-concentration that cause scissor-action pliers to mark silver, gold and soft wire (a common complaint from jewellers replacing lower-cost tools).
  • Five Task-Specific Jaw Profiles: We engineer five distinct jaw profiles: flat nose for holding, snipe nose tapering to a 2.0 mm x 1.8 mm tip for tight spaces, fine nose round with a 1 mm tip for wire looping, half round with a 4.8 mm radius for ring bending and side cutters with 23x force multiplication. This means you select the jaw built for your technique - not one generic shape forced to do everything.
  • Four Jaw Surface Materials: We offer smooth steel, serrated steel, soft polyurethane inserts and hard nylon inserts across the range. This allows you to match the jaw to your workpiece - smooth for precious metals, serrated for secure grip, polyurethane for coloured wire that scratches easily, nylon for non-marking rigidity during shaping. What we have found after decades of manufacturing pliers is that the jaw surface matters as much as the jaw profile.
  • Birmingham School of Jewellery Collaboration: Our collet-making plier was co-developed with Birmingham School of Jewellery and features three precision notches at 0.7 mm, 0.85 mm and 1.0 mm for shaping sheet into arcs. This gives working jewellers a purpose-built ring bending and collet making tool - the kind of specialist engineering we have built through developing custom tools for GE Power, Airbus and Meter Provida.
  • HRC 57 Jaws Made in England: We case-harden every jaw to HRC 57 and manufacture in Nottinghamshire with engineers averaging 25 years' experience, backed by ISO 9001 certification held for over 30 years. This delivers long-term edge retention and jaw alignment that imported pliers at a fraction of the price cannot maintain - in our experience, jaws that start going out of alignment after a few weeks of daily use cost you more in scrapped workpieces than the tool saved upfront.

Maun Mini Pliers. The Right Jaw for Your Next Project.

Each 125 mm plier in this range is engineered for a specific type of precision work.

We've sorted the highlights below by the work each one handles, so you can go straight to the model that fits your technique.

  • Smooth Jaws Flat Nose Parallel Plier 125 mm - If you're building your first jewellery kit, this is the flat nose we'd start you with. Smooth jaws hold a sterling silver bracelet or a copper headpin without leaving tooth marks, and the parallel-action mechanism keeps grip even from base to tip. We case-harden the jaws to HRC 57, the same standard as our return-spring models, just without the spring.
  • Snipe Nose Smooth Jaws Parallel Pliers Return Spring Comfort Grips 125 mm - Built for full-day bench work, this snipe nose pairs a 2.0 by 1.8 mm tapered tip with a return spring and PVC comfort grips. Tapered jaws reach inside a chain link, a clasp recess or a beadwork frame where flat nose pliers won't fit. Our return spring opens the jaws between squeezes so you're not gripping against it through a four-hour session, and our chemically blackened jaw surface holds delicate metals without polishing them.
  • Fine Nose Round Jaws Parallel Plier Comfort Grips 125 mm - Our Fine Nose Round narrows to 1 mm at the tip. That diameter forms identical loops every time on headpins, jump rings and decorative wire wraps, where each loop has to match the last. We chemically blacken the jaws to a matt finish so they don't transfer a shine onto bright silver or gold work.
  • Half Round And Flat Jaws Parallel Plier With Three Collet Making Notches 125 mm - We co-developed this collet plier with the Birmingham School of Jewellery for the working jeweller who makes their own ring shanks and bezel mounts. Three precision notches at 0.7, 0.85 and 1.0 mm form consistent collet diameters in one tool, while the half-round 4.8 mm radius bends ring shanks without flat-spotting the curve.
  • Side Cutter Parallel Plier For Hard Wire Return Spring Comfort Grips 125 mm - Our 125 mm side cutter is the only one in this range that grips, manipulates and cuts in a single tool. V-slot serrated jaws hold wire along the full 30 mm jaw length, and the side cutter delivers 23x force through 1.6 mm piano wire, 2.0 mm hard wire or 3.0 mm soft wire. The return spring re-opens the jaws between cuts, so your wrist isn't doing the lever's job through a long bench session.
  • Soft Plastic Jaws Flat Nose Parallel Pliers Return Spring Comfort Grips 125 mm - For coloured craft wire and coated components, we set polyurethane inserts into the jaw faces. The soft surface grips without scratching, marking or denting wire enamels, plated finishes or anodised aluminium. Our HRC 57 steel body sits behind the inserts, so you keep the parallel-action grip strength without the surface trade-off.
