Long Nose Pliers

(Showing 12 of 12)

Exceptional reach. Same reliable grip.

The Maun long nose plier. Reimagined with parallel-action jaws for a firmer, more reliable grip in hard-to-reach spaces.

Whether you’re an electrician, technician, jeweller, or engineer, our pliers deliver accuracy where other tools can’t reach.

They combine a tapered nose with our signature parallel-action jaws, giving you increased access and repeatable accuracy and control in confined spaces, with the reliable Maun grip that professionals expect.

Engineered for professionals and makers alike, they deliver precision handling where conventional tools slip. From manipulating wire and springs to gripping fastenings in deep recesses - Mauns make every task easier.

Maun Long Nose Pliers. Precision grip in confined spaces.

Maun long nose pliers are engineered to solve the problem of tight spaces. While ordinary pivot pliers often slip in confined spaces, Maun parallel-action jaws maintain full contact for a secure grip.

We use parallel-action jaws and strict quality control to ensure tips meet squarely. Your grip doesn't slip, even when working deep in a back box, a connector, or a crowded assembly.

  • Parallel-action grip: We use parallel jaws to maintain full contact along the serrated jaw faces (no pinching at a single point). This prevents small parts from rocking in the jaw when holding wire, clips, or flat-sided pieces.
  • Compound-lever action: This mechanism multiplies hand force and builds clamp force progressively, giving you more control while positioning components or straightening wire. This reduces your hand fatigue during repetitive tasks.
  • Extended reach: Maun's range is designed with long, tapered jaws (50-70 mm usable length, with tips down to 3.0 mm x 1.5 mm) giving you far more usable length than standard, so you can access back boxes, manipulate connectors, and work in tight bays more easily. This keeps your approach straight, so the jaws stay seated rather than slipping off.
  • Return spring: Selected Maun models feature a built-in spring. It reopens the tool after each squeeze, removing the need to prise handles apart. Essential for maintaining rhythm during repetitive fitting work.
  • Grip and cut: Our high-leverage side cutters use induction-hardened blades to cut up to 2.0 mm piano wire without you swapping tools. Our hardened, machined blades cut up to 1.6-2.0 mm piano wire, 2.0-2.5 mm hard wire, and 3.0-4.0 mm soft wire. This lets you hold your position and finish the cut cleanly.
  • Case-hardened jaws: Maun jaws and cutting edges are hardened to HRC 57 for durability. Our zinc-plated finish prevents rust, ensuring pivots remain smooth after twisting, pulling, and storage.
  • Made in England: Our pliers are manufactured to ISO 9001 standards.

Maun Long Nose Pliers. Built for Gripping & Cutting In Hard To Reach Places

Our range is designed for when access is tight, and accuracy is non-negotiable. The tapered nose and long jaws means our tools can reach into tight spaces that other pliers struggle with, including reaching into small items to manipulate them (such as springs).

Rewiring a cramped consumer unit? Tightening a bolt in the middle of an engine bay? Manipulating fine silver wire that you can’t afford to damage? These tools will help you do it better.

Working with offline electrical systems? The Long Nose Parallel Plier Return Spring 160mm is a combination plier that's great for this, compact and easy to use, purpose-built for repetitive wire manipulation (although not on live circuits).

The round outer nose and tapered design (precision ground to 3-4mm diameter tips that align perfectly) help you see better, too, increasing the accuracy of your work, without the tool you’re using getting in the way. This also makes it easier to use multiple tools at once, perfect for working on intricate designs or complex mechanical fixings.

Working in automotive? Our Long Nose Parallel Plier 200mm gives you the maximum reach and the dependable Maun grip strength for difficult work with greasy components. The two serration grades (fine serration for delicate materials at the tip, coarser mid-jaw for more robust applications) offer exceptional grip with different types of components.

Looking to cut wire too? Our Long Nose Side Cutter Parallel Plier 160mm is the ideal tool. Their precision-machined cutting edges are hardened to HRC 57 to maximise performance and durability, producing a consistent, clean diagonal cut on materials up to piano wire of 1.6 mm or 2.0 mm diameter depending on the model. These are long nose combination pliers reimagined.

Maun Tools Have Innovative Features That Make a Real Difference In Your Work

Maun’s range is segmented by task-specific benefits. Below are the core listings:

  • For High-Speed Precision: Long Nose Parallel Plier Return Spring 160 mm (SKU 4913-160). The return spring eliminates the need to manually open the tool, ideal for repetitive circuit board assembly.
  • For Maximum Force: Long Nose Side Cutter Parallel Plier 200 mm (SKU 4920-200). Featuring Comfort Grips and a compound lever that multiplies hand force by 23x, it shears through 2.0 mm piano wire with ease.
  • For Delicate Reach: Long Nose Plier 150 mm (SKU 4911-150). A lightweight, pressed-steel construction with a return spring, designed for jewelry and fine electronics where "feel" is more important than raw force.

Maun Pliers vs Cheaper Tools - How Do They Compare?

Maun tools provide measurable mechanical advantages over unbranded alternatives

  1. Material Integrity: Unbranded pliers often use low-grade carbon steel. Maun tools use precision-machined high-quality steel that is zinc-plated for rust resistance.
  2. Accuracy: On unbranded "needle nose" tools, the tips rarely meet perfectly. Maun’s UK-made process control ensures zero-gap tip alignment, essential for pulling a single strand of wire in a crowded box.
  3. Mechanical Advantage: Mauns use Compound-Lever Action. An unbranded tool requires significantly more hand pressure, leading to long-term issues like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or simple hand fatigue during an 8-hour shift.

Nothing is ever out of reach, with Maun pliers.

Made in England. Trusted since 1944.

That’s why professionals choose Maun.
